A small crispy bruschetta with fresh tomato

Bruschetta

Bruschetta the Italian apetizer

Toasted piece of bread and a wild imagination. That is all it takes to enjoy bruschetta!

The red of the chopped tomatoes, the black of the summer truffle, the creaminess of gorgonzola cheese with slices of pear, the emerald green of freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil, the darker shade of red with the crushed sun-dried tomatoes, the whiteness of burrata with anchovies, or capers with basil, toasted “lard from Colonnata”, grilled zucchini. The list could go on and on. How about you? What is your favorite?

A slice of home-made bread, cut not to thin nor too thick and slightly grilled. That is it. It’s like having white canvas to paint on and an endless number of colours! Bruschetta can be compared to that classic black dress that is perfect for any occasion. Hosting an apertivo? Bruschetta. Friends show up last minute. Bruschetta. Even a planned dinner can have various types of bruschetta to serve as first course. It’s a fun, different and a great way to entertain!

Mix and match. Experiment and enjoy. What is your favorite?
