Every year Slow Food, a global organization that aims to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions, publishes Osterie d’Italia, a guide of the best osterias in Italy. When we travel throughout Italy, we always take this guide with us. The osterias selected by Slow Food have been grouped region by region, making it quick and easy to choose which of the (few) places they recommend going to in each city for authentic local cuisine.
We buy the new edition every year. Though Slow Food’s Osterie d’Italia is only available in Italian, you can easily spot the name and address of the places they recommend.
